Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a state-of-the-art MRI machine worth approximately ₹6 crore in Champawat, established with the support of the ICICI Foundation under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). With this facility, residents of Champawat and the border regions of Pithoragarh, Almora, and Nainital will no longer need to travel to major cities like Haldwani for the diagnosis of serious conditions such as brain, spinal, cancer, and stroke-related ailments. Having diagnostic facilities available locally will save time and money while ensuring timely treatment.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that a ‘Healthy Uttarakhand’ is the foundation of a ‘Developed Uttarakhand.’ He provided details about other ongoing health projects in Champawat, including a 50-bed critical care block costing ₹20 crore, a state-of-the-art diagnostic wing, an operation theatre, and a Primary Health Centre in Amodi. Additionally, the construction of a modern hostel costing ₹470 lakh has been completed to promote nursing education. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing free and cashless treatment to the poor through Ayushman schemes, the Chief Minister called for the creation of a healthy and empowered Uttarakhand.
