A 40-member delegation of civil service officers from Sri Lanka visited the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) under the aegis of the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG).
Key Highlights:
• Training and Information: The officers gained insights into early warning systems, landslide mitigation, weather-based risk management, and measures to control human-wildlife conflict.
• Technical Systems: USDMA officials provided detailed information on Emergency Operation Centres, the Incident Response System (IRS), and radar-based forecasting systems.
• International Cooperation: Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman stated that such exchanges of experience and international cooperation strengthen and enhance disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
The Sri Lankan officials showed keen interest in the technical and institutional measures being implemented in the state.
