Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam reviewed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign during a video conference with District Magistrates at the Secretariat. He issued strict instructions to the Kumaon and Garhwal Commissioners to camp in their assigned districts (Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Dehradun, and Haridwar) for the next 15 days.
Key Instructions:
• Cross-verification: EROs are to specifically cross-verify booths where applications for Form-6 (inclusion of names) exceed 4% and applications for Form-7 (deletion of names) exceed 2%.
• Surprise inspections: District Magistrates will conduct random field visits and super-checks.
• Time-bound disposal: All DEOs have been instructed to examine all applications in accordance with the rules and dispose of them within the stipulated timeframe.
District Magistrates from all districts, along with Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande, attended the meeting.
