A team of senior officials from the Election Commission of India is scheduled to visit Dehradun on October 12 and 13 to review election arrangements. In preparation for this visit, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan held a review meeting with all nodal officers on Saturday and directed them to complete the necessary arrangements in a time-bound manner.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate emphasized the availability of EVMs and VVPATs, the assessment of requirements for additional machines, and the timely completion of the First Level Check (FLC). Instructions were issued to all Sub-Divisional Magistrates regarding the mapping of sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling stations, the tendering process, and the formation of committees. Additionally, the police department was asked to assess security force requirements.
The District Magistrate directed officials to work in coordination to enhance voter awareness through SVEEP programs, manage personnel training and polling party arrangements, and ensure robust preparations at vote-counting venues.
