On Sunday, more than 100 individuals associated with various political and social organizations in the Haridwar district joined the Congress party at the state headquarters in Dehradun. Uttarakhand Congress Committee President Ganesh Godiyal welcomed them by presenting them with party scarves and garlands. This membership drive was conducted under the leadership of Manoj Dhangar and Vinod Kumar, the State Working President of the SC Department. Several prominent figures, including Shashipal (District Convener of the Hindu Jagran Manch) and Deepak Koli, joined the Congress.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganesh Godiyal stated that the public is joining the Congress, frustrated by the BJP’s anti-people policies. He alleged that inflation, unemployment, corruption, exam paper leaks, and crimes against women have escalated under BJP rule. He also criticized the government regarding issues concerning the Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines and called upon party workers to struggle for the protection of the Constitution and democracy.
