Panic ensued following a massive fire at a warehouse near the ’56 Bhog’ shop in Chandan Nagar, Dehradun. Fueled by highly flammable materials stored inside—such as mattresses, seat covers, and plastics—the fire rapidly intensified. Upon receiving news of the incident, the Dehradun fire station team acted swiftly, arriving at the scene to launch a rescue operation.
Led by Chief Fire Officer Mr. Abhinav Tyagi, the team displayed immense courage and successfully rescued 20 to 25 people trapped inside the warehouse. This challenging operation, which lasted approximately eight hours, involved the deployment of seven fire tenders and 30–40 fire personnel, utilizing 50,000 liters of water and 500 liters of foam. Despite adverse conditions, including dense smoke and intense heat, the team demonstrated strategic ingenuity by breaking through a hotel wall to access the source of the fire. Thanks to the hard work and professional competence of the fire personnel, the fire was prevented from spreading to adjacent buildings. This successful rescue operation not only averted a major tragedy but also ensured zero loss of life—a shining example of the Dehradun fire station’s operational efficiency and humanitarian spirit
