Haldwani: Old vehicles engaged in mining work will no longer run on the roads. The Transport Department has issued an order saying that the fitness of vehicles older than 2010 which are engaged in mining work will now be strictly checked. They will be allowed to run on the road only after their fitness is found to be correct.
Divisional Transport Officer Haldwani Sunil Sharma said that for this, the teams of Parivartan of the Transport Department have been instructed to check the fitness of all the vehicles engaged in mining work. He said that the investigation of the Transport Department has revealed that there are about 12000 dumpers and trucks in Gola and Nandhaur rivers which are engaged in mining work. Many of these vehicles are from before the year 2000. Many of these vehicles are not roadworthy. Even after this, they are engaged in mining work.
In such a situation, along with environmental pollution, the possibility of road accidents is also increasing. In view of this, instructions have been issued to strictly check the fitness of vehicles engaged in mining work in rivers on the instructions of the government. Apart from this, older vehicles will not be allowed to run on the roads. Apart from this, old vehicles found fit in the fitness of the transport department will be allowed to run.
Divisional Transport Officer Haldwani Sunil Sharma said that by running a special campaign on old registered vehicles, the fitness of the said vehicles will be checked. In which instructions have been given to cancel the registration of unfit vehicles.
