On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Mukhyamantri Sashakt Bahna Utsav-2026’ held at the Ramlila Ground in Dhura, Champawat. During the event, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 50 development projects worth ₹62.97 crore aimed at the holistic development of the district. These included the inauguration of 20 projects worth ₹11.08 crore and the laying of foundation stones for 30 projects worth ₹51.89 crore.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to the respect, safety, education, health, and economic self-reliance of women. He emphasized that ensuring women’s participation in the development of their families and society by making them self-reliant is a priority for the government.
He highlighted projects for women in Champawat, such as a college hostel, an ITI lab, a women’s sports college, an integrated nursing institute, and a women’s technology park. The Chief Minister also spoke about initiatives like ‘Vocal for Local’, ‘House of Himalayas’, ‘Hilans’ outlets, food vans, and e-rickshaws designed to promote local products made by self-help groups.
At the event, the Chief Minister exchanged Raksha Bandhan greetings after having the *Raksha Sutra* (sacred thread) tied by women and inspected the stalls set up by various government departments.
