Dehradun: Heavy rains continue in Uttarakhand. Due to which, while on one hand there is a disaster-like situation in the mountainous areas, on the other hand, a flood-like situation is seen in the plains. Due to continuous heavy rains, rivers and streams are in spate. Due to the disaster-like situation in all the areas of the state, 42 people have died so far. Along with this, 169 roads are still blocked. This is the reason why after the forecast of heavy rains was issued by the Meteorological Department, the Disaster Management Department has issued instructions to take precautions.
According to the information received from the Uttarakhand Emergency Operations Center, during this disaster season i.e. from June 1 to August 15, 2025, 42 people have died due to natural disaster. While 40 people are injured and 13 people are disaster. Due to the disaster, there has been a lot of loss to humans as well as animals. During this, 48 large animals and 89 small animals have died. Apart from this, during this disaster season, some part of 1594 houses, more than half of 63 houses and 40 houses have been completely damaged. Along with this, 29 cow sheds have also been damaged. Relief and rescue work is going on since the disaster in Dharali of Uttarkashi. So far 1308 passengers / local people have been rescued.
Food items are also being provided to the disaster affected in Dharali. Due to continuous heavy rains and landslides in many parts of the state, 169 roads have been blocked. Which includes 7 NH, 06 SH, 01 Border Road as well as 57 PWD roads, 96 PMGSY roads. According to the State Emergency Operations Center, heavy rains are expected in most parts of the state for the next few days. On August 17, an orange alert has been issued forecasting heavy rains in all parts of Dehradun, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh districts. Along with this, a yellow alert has been issued indicating the possibility of heavy rain in some parts of the state from 18 to 20 August.
