Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan held a review meeting with the Police Department at the Secretariat and issued directives to strengthen digital policing, cybersecurity, and the prevention of human trafficking.
Key Directives:
• Prevention of Human Trafficking: Instructions were issued to launch special drives to locate missing women and children, form dedicated teams, and integrate portals with the Women and Child Development Department.
• Cyber Policing: Emphasis was placed on increasing manpower and onboarding banking and cyber experts to effectively tackle cybercrimes.
• Technology-based Investigation: Directions were given to provide investigation kits to police stations, establish separate investigation wings in high-workload stations, and accelerate the implementation of e-FIR, FSL, and e-Summons systems.
• Disposal of Seized Vehicles: To address the shortage of space at police stations, instructions were issued to conduct a drive for the speedy disposal of seized vehicles and to submit monthly reports.
