Eighty-seven public grievances were heard during the ‘Samadhan Diwas’ (Grievance Redressal Day) held at the Rishiparna Auditorium in the Dehradun Collectorate, presided over by Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) K.K. Mishra. The hearing primarily addressed issues related to land disputes, illegal encroachments, the construction of retaining walls, and financial assistance.
Key Issues and Directives:
โข Land Disputes and Illegal Encroachment: Directives for immediate investigation and action were issued to the SDM and the police regarding complaints of encroachment on government land in Maruti Vihar, encroachment on private land in East Hope Town, and illegal construction on a soldier’s land in Ranipokhari.
โข Land Survey and Development Works: Following a demand for a land survey in the Gram Panchayats of the Binhar region, the SDM (Vikasnagar) was instructed to conduct a site inspection; directives were also issued for the construction of retaining walls in Kandogal and Ladpur.
โข Family and Financial Assistance: Cases concerning police action regarding maintenance disputes and requests for financial assistance for female students pursuing higher education were recorded.
The ADM emphasized that the resolution of complaints must not merely be on paper but must be timely and of high quality on the ground.
