Haridwar: There is chaos in Uttarakhand due to rain. Due to rain, the water level of rivers and drains has increased. The water level of Ganga in Haridwar has also crossed the warning level. Due to the increase in the water level of Ganga, flood-like conditions have occurred in the lower areas. Water had entered a factory located in Bahadarabad, Haridwar, due to which many workers were trapped there, who were rescued by the police.
Let us tell you that due to heavy rains, flood-like conditions have arisen in many areas of Haridwar. Talking about the water level of river Ganga, it had reached 293.85 meters, which is slightly below the danger level. Giving more information, JE Harish Kumar of Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department said that due to continuous rain in the mountains for two days, the water level of Ganga is flowing much above its warning level. Ganga is flowing 0.85 meters above its warning level of 293.00 meters, while the danger level of Ganga is 294.000 meters. In view of this, the district administration has alerted the flood posts and disaster management team.
Also, people living in the Terai areas are being asked to keep a distance from the Ganges. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit has instructed all the regional officers and employees to remain in the field and has instructed the established flood posts to be extra vigilant. Citizens have been appealed to stay away from the river coastal areas and bathe only at designated places.
Laborers trapped in factory: Let us tell you that more than 50 workers working in a factory located in Bahadarabad police station area were trapped late at night due to water filling in it. As soon as the information about the matter was received, the police reached the spot and started the rescue operation. The police evacuated all the workers safely from the factory.
According to the Bahadarabad police station, at 4.37 am they received information from 112 control room that flood water has entered the Uttam Distillery Factory in Ahmedpur village, in which about one and a half hundred people are trapped. On receiving the information, Senior Sub Inspector Pradeep Rathore from Bahadarabad Police Station reached the spot with the police force.
Apart from this, fire brigade and water police were called to the spot. The three teams jointly conducted a rescue operation and evacuated 52 employees and workers trapped there safely.
