Dehradun: Ignoring all the challenges and adverse weather conditions, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached ground zero in Dharali on Wednesday. Where he met the affected families and assured them of all possible help. Along with this, CM Dhami also reviewed the relief work. After all the circumstances, CM Dhami has decided to stay in Uttarkashi tonight.
Today CM Dhami met the personnel engaged in relief and rescue operations on the spot. He instructed the officials to ensure that the relief material reaches the affected in a timely manner. He said that with the aim of speeding up the relief operations, essential food and relief material has been delivered to Dharali area through two helicopters. He said that the priority of the state government is to restore normalcy by providing relief to every affected person.
CM Dhami said that relief and rescue operations are being monitored by senior officials of the government at the State Emergency Operations Center. Every person’s life is precious. No stone will be left unturned by the state government in this direction. CM Dhami said that in the morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked on the phone and inquired about the natural disaster in Dharali area and the relief and rescue operations being carried out after it. The Chief Minister told the Prime Minister that the state government is engaged in relief and rescue operations with full readiness. Due to continuous heavy rainfall, difficulties are being faced in some areas, but all the concerned agencies are working in coordination. So that the affected people can get quick help. Prime Minister Modi assured all possible assistance from the central government.
Let us tell you that UCADA helicopters are playing an important role in this entire rescue operation. Amidst the challenges of weather, a total of 7 sorties of UCADA helicopters took place on Wednesday. In the first of these, Pushkar Singh Dhami reached ground zero. Through the second sortie, District Magistrate Uttarkashi and SP Uttarkashi reached the spot. At the same time, in the other sortie, a total of 22 people from the district administration team, SDRF, NDRF reached ground zero. 28 NDRF personnel have also reached Dharali with 2 satellite phones through UCADA helicopters. UCADA helicopters have rescued 10 soldiers including a lieutenant colonel from Dharali. 2 injured army personnel have been sent to a higher center by helicopter.
