Uttarkashi: Due to boulders and debris falling from the hill near Syanachatti on Yamunotri Highway, the movement of vehicles was closed for about eight hours. On receiving the information, the NH machinery reached the spot and after a lot of hard work, removed the debris and boulders and started the movement there. The movement has been started by laying soil on the sunken road near Dasuri and Phoolchatti as well.
Due to heavy rain in the area late last Sunday night, the road near Syanachatti was closed due to debris and boulders. Due to this, passengers and local people had to face trouble. The NH department machine that reached the spot had to work hard to open the road. It took about eight hours to remove the huge boulders. After that the movement could be started.
On last Sunday also, the movement was closed there for about 6 hours. On the other hand, on the Phoolchatti Janakichatti road, which was in the grip of a landslide near Phoolchatti, PWD has started the movement of vehicles on the third day by filling the soil on the sensitive part. However, the movement is risky there. Local resident Purushottam Uniyal said that due to the erosion of the Yamuna river, the high school building and the surrounding area along with the road have also come under threat. He said that if protective measures are not taken on the banks of the Yamuna river between Phoolchatti and Krishnachatti in time, then it can be a big danger in the future.
At the same time, on Monday late evening, the movement was stopped due to a tree falling near Orkha Band on the Yamunotri Highway. Shivansh Dobhal, who was coming to Barkot towards Uttarkashi, said that the movement was stopped due to a big tree falling on the road near Orkha Band towards Barkot. He has shared the above information through social media. After which the NH employees started the movement by cutting the tree.
