Stepping up its campaign against illegal construction and unauthorized plotting, the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) carried out a major enforcement drive on Tuesday in the Sahaspur and Mussoorie areas. Authority teams used bulldozers to demolish unauthorized construction projects and illegal plotting developments.
Key Actions:
• Sahaspur Area: Illegal plotting being carried out over an area of approximately five *bighas* near the new highway in Sherpur village was demolished. Additionally, the Authority’s bulldozers razed an illegal construction being undertaken by an individual named Savej in Selaqui.
• Mussoorie Area: Illegal constructions by Kalpana Sharma, Vikram Rawat, and Vikas Thapli in the Kolukhet area were demolished as they did not comply with prescribed norms.
The demolition process was carried out in the presence of police personnel. MDDA Vice-Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari made it clear that illegal activities would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He stated that the Authority’s objective is to ensure planned development. MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia appealed to citizens to obtain due approval from the Authority before undertaking any construction or plotting. Such actions, including sealing and demolition, will continue against violators in the future.
