Chamoli:- Badrinath National Highway has been blocked due to boulder falling from a rock in Pinula near Govindghat in Gopeshwar in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Due to this, pilgrims going on pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib have been prevented from going further.
Police and BRO (Border Roads Organisation) team have reached the spot. Due to the rain in the Jyotirmath area at night, stones fell from the rock in Pinula on Badrinath Highway and came on the highway.
Due to this, the yatra vehicles going on pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib and returning from the journey have been stopped on both sides of the highway since morning. Police officials said that pilgrims will be sent to their destination when the highway is opened.
Heavy rains in Kedarnath
At the same time, heavy rains are falling in Kedarnath, due to which passengers have been stopped in Sonprayag. District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said that it has been raining heavily in Kedarnath since last night. All footpaths have been asked to be vigilant from the point of view of safety.
