More than 110 public grievances were raised during a ‘Jan Samadhan Diwas’ (Public Grievance Redressal Day) held in Dehradun, co-chaired by Additional District Magistrate Smrita Parmar and Joint Magistrate Harshita Singh. The issues brought forward primarily concerned land disputes, illegal encroachments, matters related to Gram Panchayats, and the adjustment of solar energy units in electricity bills.
Key directives issued included stopping illegal extortion at the Rampur Kalan ‘Haat’ market, adjusting the outstanding solar energy units (from a 3 kW solar panel) in the electricity bill of Madan Mohan Negi, and removing an electricity pole installed without permission on private land belonging to Kheema Devi. Furthermore, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Vikasnagar was tasked with investigating complaints regarding land disputes and encroachments. Additionally, the Circle Officer (CO) of Raipur was directed to conduct an impartial investigation into the suspicious death of the late Sandesh Thapa in Maldevta.
The officials emphasized that there should be no unnecessary delays in resolving these grievances and that genuine relief must be provided to the complainants in a transparent manner.
