Treating the paper leak episode in the NEET 2026 examination as a grave matter, the BJP has termed the call for a CBI inquiry into the incident as both a necessary and welcome step.
State President and Rajya Sabha MP, Mr. Mahendra Bhatt, has appealed to all young people to place their trust in the government and has assured them that the strictest action will be taken against the culprits without delay. He took aim at the opposition, remarking that theyโunder whose rule every appointment was secured through “bribes and influence,” and where court orders were required even to cancel exams following paper leaksโare now the ones lecturing us on morality.
He stated that, adopting a firm stance regarding the alleged paper leak in the MBBS entrance examination, the Central Government has cancelled the test. Furthermore, the matter has been handed over to the CBI for a comprehensive investigation. This decision has been taken in the best interest of the students and to ensure strict action against the guilty individuals. The decision prioritizes the welfare of the students, and assurances have been given that the examination will be re-conducted shortlyโwithin a week. In light of past irregularities in examinations, the government had already enacted a law providing for stringent penalties against examination-related malpractices. Consequently, anyone found guilty this time will face the severest punishment in accordance with these new laws. He expressed hope that the irregularities and flaws exposed during the investigation of this episode would be permanently rectified, thereby ensuring a completely cheat-proof examination system.
He appealed to the youth to exercise patience, assuring them that their government would not allow anyone to toy with their future and would teach a stern lesson to those attempting to undermine the integrity of the examination process. At the same time, he advised the oppositionโand specifically leaders of the Congress partyโto desist from misleading the youth on this issue. He asserted that the entire nation bears witness to the fact that, during their regimes, no recruitment examination was ever completed without reports of paper leaks or cheating. Moreover, the practice of distributing jobs like freebiesโsecured through “bribes and influence”โwas rampant. Not only that, but one was often compelled to approach the courts merely to obtain orders for the cancellation of examinations marred by irregularities. It is truly astonishing, he noted, that the very same Congress party is now inciting the youth and attempting to preach morality to us
