On Monday, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off four state-of-the-art ambulances—provided by HDFC Bank under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative—from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. This initiative will play a pivotal role in strengthening medical facilities in the remote and hilly regions of the state.
The key highlights of this initiative are as follows:
• **Priority to Hilly Regions:** In the initial phase, these ambulances will provide healthcare services in the districts of Chamoli, Champawat, Pithoragarh, and Rudraprayag. They will also be utilized during major religious congregations and for disaster management operations.
• **Three Years of Support from the Bank:** These ambulances are equipped with modern life-saving medical equipment. Furthermore, for the next three years, the bank will also arrange for the necessary medical staff—including doctors, nurses, attendants, and drivers—to operate these vehicles.
• **Request for Future Support (Kumbh Mela):** While commending this public welfare initiative, the Chief Minister requested the bank to provide additional ambulances for the upcoming Haridwar Kumbh Mela as well as for other hilly districts.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to extending superior healthcare facilities to the last person standing in the queue, and that such collaborative support from private institutions serves as an exemplary model of social responsibility. Several Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and senior officials from HDFC Bank were present on this occasion.
