Dehradun: The Centralized Intelligence Unit (CIU) team of the State Tax Department raided 14 iron steel and work contractor firms in Dehradun and Roorkee for GST theft. In this action, GST worth 2.31 crores was deposited on the spot.
On the directions of Commissioner State Tax Sonika, CIU took action on GST theft on Wednesday. The department found tax theft after analyzing the information of GST portal, e-way bill and business intelligence portal. On this, CIU teams simultaneously raided iron steel and work contractor firms in Dehradun and Roorkee.
These firms fraudulently took advantage of ITC by showing purchase of goods from closed firms of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and defrauded the revenue. In the preliminary investigation, it was found that the vehicles with which these firms have shown transportation of goods in the documents were found to be transporting goods to other states during that time. In many cases, the goods carrying vehicles did not pass through the toll plaza between the supplier and the buyer.
Estimated tax evasion of more than six crores
Deputy Commissioner Nikhilesh Srivastava said that many people of the same family were running firms to take advantage of ITC in a fraudulent manner. Business places of 12 firms have been found in the action. While two firms were being run from home. More than six crores of tax evasion is estimated in the whole case.
During the departmental action, documents related to business and GST were seized from the firms for investigation. The help of forensic team was taken to season the digital devices in the action. In the preliminary investigation, the firms have deposited GST of 2.31 crores on the spot. Deputy Commissioner Vijay Pandey, Arjun Rana, Anjali Gusain, Deepak Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Yogesh Mishra and other officials were present in the action.
To improve the facilities of teaching and learning and the arrangement of resources in 2295 government secondary schools of Uttar Pradesh, the department will also issue the examination grading of these schools. For this, the department has instructed the government secondary schools to upload their information online in a prescribed format. On the basis of this, evaluation will be done and grading will be issued.
The department will evaluate the government schools on the basis of number of teachers and staff, electricity connection, availability of computer room, library, laboratory, art room, smart class, WiFi facility, teacher-student attendance, study as per syllabus etc. The principals and headmasters of the schools have been instructed to upload the information from April to June in the new session on schoolgradingmad-hyamikshiksha.in.
The Director of Secondary Education has instructed all DIOS and Divisional Joint Director of Education to ensure that these information are uploaded within the prescribed time. Also motivate all the schools for this. So that the grading of the schools can be released on time.
This is the timetable
The headmaster-principal will have to fill the online information and send it to the DIOS with the data by July 8. DIOS will verify them online, do physical inspection of five percent schools and send its report to the Divisional Joint Education Director by July 12. Divisional Joint Education Director will verify the schools of the board, do physical inspection of at least five schools and send its report to the state headquarters by July 15. After this, grading will be issued by the headquarters.
Grading will be done on 200 marks
Grading of colleges will be issued on 200 marks by the Secondary Education Department. In this, 80 percent marks will be considered excellent, 60 to 80 percent very good, 40 to 60 percent good, 20 to 40 satisfactory, 20 percent unsatisfactory.
