The work being done under the PCPNDT Act in the state will be continuously reviewed at the district level. Members of the State Supervisory Board will also be present in these review meetings. For this, instructions have been given to the Chief Medical Officers of all the districts. Apart from this, now pregnancy related medicines will not be sold in the state without medical consultation, if unauthorized sale of Misoprostol medicine is found at medical stores, then action will be taken against the operator of the store under the PCPNDT Act.
The above decisions were taken in the meeting of the State Supervisory Board held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat in the Chief Secretary Auditorium located in the Secretariat. Dr. Rawat said that the PC-PNDT Act (Pre-Conception and Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques) is being strictly followed in the state. Strict instructions have been given to the departmental officers to ensure that the Act is not violated in any way in the state. He said that now the sale of pregnancy related Misoprostol medicine has been banned in the state. This medicine will be given to the patients only on medical consultation. He said that if unauthorized sale of pregnancy related medicines is found at any medical store, then action will be taken against such store owners under the PC-PNDT Act. For this, concrete instructions have been given to all the Chief Medical Officers.
In the meeting, instructions were also given to the officers to ensure birth registration within 21 days of the birth of the newborn. For this, training will be given to the Gram Pradhan, Asha, ANM, Anganwadi workers, along with this, massive public awareness campaigns will be run across the state regarding birth registration and child helpline 1098, so that people can become aware of their rights. Apart from this, Dr. Rawat instructed all the Chief Medical Officers to review the work done under PC-PNDT at the district level. He said that for this, tour programs should be scheduled by fixing the district-wise responsibility of the departmental officers. Along with this, members of the State Supervisory Board should also be invited in these review meetings, so that the work being done at the ground level can be properly investigated and the common people can get their benefits. He said that a concrete action plan should be prepared to prevent fetal sex determination and feticide in the state so that such cases can be dealt with strictly.

*Health Minister inaugurates Cath Lab*
State Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat today inaugurated the state-of-the-art “Cath Lab” at Swami Vivekananda Charitable Hospital, Dharmawala, run by Swami Vivekananda Health Mission Society. Dr. Rawat said that with the operation of Cath Lab, heart patients will get facilities like angioplasty, angiography at the local level and economically weaker people will be able to get high quality health services at minimum cost. He said that the mission is realizing the ideals of service and compassion of Swami Vivekananda.
On this occasion, provincial preacher Dr. Shailendra ji, MLA Sahaspur Sahdev Pundir, founder of Divya Prem Mission Ashish Bhaiya along with members of Rotary Club and local public representatives were present.
