Garhwal Division Commissioner Anand Swaroop reviewed the preparations for the second phase of the ‘Special Intensive Revision-2026’ in the Doiwala Assembly constituency today. He conducted on-site inspections of several polling stations in Lachhiwala and Premnagar and directed officials to install clear instruction boards at the booths to ensure voters face no inconvenience.
Subsequently, during a review meeting, the upcoming electoral roll schedule was discussed with representatives from the BJP, Congress, and the Samajwadi Party. The Commissioner clarified that the draft electoral roll is being prepared based on the qualifying date of July 1, 2026. He informed that the process of issuing notices, resolving objections, and rectifying other discrepancies would be carried out between July 20 and September 11. Additionally, the process of distributing and serving notices would take place from July 25 to August 17.
The Commissioner instructed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to analyze booth-wise data regarding ‘unmet’ voters and conduct a special campaign. He stated that voters who were missed during the first phase could get their names added or make corrections by filling out Forms 6, 7, and 8 through the BLOs. The Commissioner emphasized the need to complete the revision work with complete transparency, impartiality, and adherence to the timeline.
