- Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made four important announcements during the parade at the Police Lines on Tuesday. Police Memorial Day is celebrated every year on October 21st. It commemorates the 10 CRPF personnel martyred in a treacherous attack by Chinese troops in the snowy mountains of Ladakh in 1959. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the event as the chief guest and made four announcements. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the state’s establishment, all police personnel will be awarded special Silver Jubilee Medals. Our police personnel play a vital role in maintaining peace and security in the state. In addition, an amount of ₹100 crore will be provided for the construction of residential buildings over three years. Five barracks will be constructed for SDRF personnel, and the Police Welfare Policy has been increased from ₹2.5 crore to ₹4.5 crore. The program paid tribute to the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the state this year while on duty. Their families were honored with financial assistance. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “Our state borders not only international borders, but also those of Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.” Our state is extremely sensitive geographically and strategically. Therefore, the role of our police personnel in maintaining peace and security in the state becomes even more important. The police system of any state is the backbone of its security and prosperity. At the program, DGP Deepam Seth said that today, this day is celebrated as Police Memorial Day across the country. We also lost four of our colleagues in the line of duty last year. Today, tribute was paid to the 186 police personnel across the country who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation
