Following a cabinet meeting on Monday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar decided to dissolve the Bihar Assembly on November 19th. There was speculation that the Chief Minister would resign on Monday and serve as acting Chief Minister, and be sworn in on November 20th.
Has the legislative party meeting been postponed?: However, the Chief Minister has not resigned. Now, there is speculation that when the Assembly dissolves on November 19th, the Chief Minister will also submit his resignation to the Governor. Suspense also remains over the JDU legislative party meeting. All MLAs have been summoned to Patna. It was previously rumored that a legislative party meeting would be held on Monday, where Nitish Kumar would be elected leader. MLC Sanjay Gandhi is unaware: JDU MLC Sanjay Gandhi, a close associate of Nitish Kumar, says that no information has been provided regarding today’s meeting. It is likely that the meeting will be held tomorrow. Senior party leaders will decide on this. Ministers also unaware of the meeting: Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar says he has not yet been informed about the meeting. The BJP is also scheduled to hold a meeting on November 18th, but there is also talk that the JDU and BJP legislative parties may meet on November 19th. NDA’s landslide victory: The NDA won a landslide victory in Bihar, capturing 202 of the 243 seats. Of these, the BJP won 89, the JDU 85, the LJP Ram Vilas Party 19, Upendra Kushwaha 4, and the HAM Party 5. The Grand Alliance once again fell into opposition. The RJD won 25 seats. The Congress won 6 seats, the CPI (ML) 2, and the IIP and CPI (M) each won 1 seat.
