On Monday, two pilgrims passed away at Badrinath Dham due to cardiac arrest. The two devotees—Suresh Motiram Nemade (60), son of Motiram Nemade and a resident of Patoda Alampur, Maharashtra; and Makhanlal Jagannath Kothari (70), son of Jagannath Kothari and a resident of Chandrapur, Maharashtra—had both arrived to seek the blessings of Lord Badri Vishal as part of the Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage.
While traveling through the high-altitude Himalayan region, the health of both pilgrims suddenly deteriorated due to medical complications. They were immediately rushed to the Primary Health Center in Badrinath Dham for treatment, where both succumbed to heart attacks during the course of their medical care.
Badrinath Police Station In-charge Navneet Bhandari stated that, prior to this incident, on April 30, Basant Ram Puradkar (75)—son of the late Ramji Puradkar and a resident of Laxmi Nagar Colony, Samreghat, Copper East, Mumbai, Maharashtra—had also passed away during treatment after his health deteriorated. To date, a total of three pilgrims have lost their lives.
