At the road safety stall set up by the Transport Department during ‘Uttarakhand Kauthik-2026’, the general public is being made aware of safe traffic practices and various departmental schemes. By the second day, over 100 people had visited the stall.
Visitors to the stall are being informed about initiatives such as the ‘Nek Rahveer’ (Good Samaritan) scheme, provisions for ‘hit-and-run’ cases, and the ‘Pradhan Mantri Rahat’ (PM RAHAT) scheme, with the aim of encouraging them to assist victims of road accidents. Additionally, traffic rules are being communicated through pamphlets and posters. An online quiz, organized to foster public engagement, has seen enthusiastic participation, with top-performing participants receiving rewards.
RTO (Enforcement and Road Safety) Dr. Anita Chamola emphasized that road safety should not be limited merely to following rules, but should become an integral part of one’s daily behavior. Exercising caution while driving and providing assistance to those injured in accidents can save lives.
