Dr. Pratima Singh, a state spokesperson for the Uttarakhand Congress, has questioned both the government and the CBI regarding the arrest of actress Urmila Sanawar, who had disclosed the name of an alleged ‘VIP’ in the Ankita Bhandari murder case. She alleged that those who speak the truth are being targeted in order to protect influential individuals.
Dr. Pratima Singh questioned why Urmila was arrested instead of the investigation being advanced, especially when she had expressed her willingness before the court to undergo a narco-analysis test. She pointed out that, despite serious allegations, BJP leader Dushyant Kumar Gautam and MLA Renu Bisht have yet to be questioned.
The Congress spokesperson demanded that an impartial narco-analysis test be conducted on Urmila Sanawar, that the Call Detail Records (CDR) and digital evidence pertaining to the two aforementioned leaders be examined, that they be subjected to questioning, and that all attempts to intimidate witnesses be brought to an end. She warned that the public will not rest until the ‘VIP’ is exposed.
