A review meeting regarding the Chief Minister’s announcements for the Champawat Assembly constituency was held at the Secretariat on Monday, chaired by Principal Secretary (Finance) Shri Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu. He issued strict instructions to officials to complete all announcements on a priority basis and within a set timeframe.
Key directives from the meeting:
• Continuous Monitoring: To ensure effective monitoring, Heads of Departments have been asked to review progress weekly, while Departmental Secretaries are to review it every 15 days. Departments must nominate nodal officers and regularly update the designated portal.
• Pending Government Orders: Government orders for significant announcements that have not yet been issued must be released promptly through inter-departmental coordination.
Progress on major projects:
• Special Goljyu Corridor: Approval from the Chief Minister has been received for this corridor (covering Golu Devta, Ghorakhal, and Chitai); the file will now be forwarded to the Finance Department.
• Jim Corbett Trail: BRIDCUL has been appointed as the executing agency in place of the PWD, and a Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been sought from them within one week.
• Other Development Works: The District Magistrate (DM) was instructed to submit a report on the Champawat sewer line project within 15 days. Additionally, instructions were given to expedite work on the Navodaya Vidyalaya sports ground, the beautification of the Hanuman Temple, the ABC Center at Nariyal village, and the Tanakpur power station.
• Completed Works: It was reported during the meeting that the widening of the Gorakhnath Temple road and the construction of the modern multi-story parking and shopping complex in Champawat have been completed.
