Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan conducted an on-site inspection of the preparations for the Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar. Traveling in an ‘Arbenia’ vehicle alongside officials, he assessed the progress and quality of construction works at various locations, including Rodi-Belwala, Har-ki-Pauri, Rishikul, Dakshdweep-Bairagi Camp, Roshanabad, and the CCR Tower.
The Chief Secretary issued clear directives ensuring that all projects be completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality. Emphasis was placed on accelerating slow-paced work and improving coordination among the concerned departments.
Key Directives and Review Points:
โข Ghats and Infrastructure: Instructions were issued to ensure the redevelopment of Har-ki-Pauri, the installation of safety railings at the ghats, and the facilitation of smooth movement.
โข Bridges and Warehouses: The progress of the 60-meter span bridge in the Bairagi area and the drug warehouse construction in Roshanabad was reviewed.
โข Quality and Safety: Emphasis was placed on conducting rigorous quality checks of the works and bridges through third-party agencies and IIT Roorkee, as well as formulating a robust crowd and traffic management plan
