Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP National General Secretary Nitin Naveen attended the ‘Punjabi Gaurav Sammelan’ held in Rudrapur, where the Sikh community honored the Chief Minister by presenting him with a *Saropa*.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dhami lauded the contributions of the Sikh and Punjabi communities toward nation-building, border security, agriculture, and the development of the Tarai region. He remarked that the lives of the *Guru Sahibs* inspire service, courage, and dedication to the national interest.
Key Highlights:
• Hemkund Sahib Ropeway: Work on the 12.5 km-long ropeway from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib has been advanced, which will facilitate the pilgrimage.
• Central Government Initiatives: Mention was made of historic steps such as the construction of the Kartarpur Corridor, the exemption of *Langar* from taxes, the observance of ‘Veer Bal Diwas’, and efforts to ensure justice for the victims of the 1984 riots.
• State Initiatives: Construction of the ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Memorial’ (*Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Sthal*), enactment of strict anti-conversion and anti-riot laws, and the establishment of a Minority Education Authority.
