Muzaffarpur: A complaint has been filed in a local court in Muzaffarpur against Tamil Nadu’s DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran over his alleged controversial statement. Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed the complaint against the MP. The court accepted the complaint and scheduled the next hearing for January 22.
Complaint filed against Dayanidhi Maran: The complainant, advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha, alleges that “in a news report broadcast on January 15, MP Dayanidhi Maran made objectionable and derogatory remarks about women from North India. It is alleged that in his statement, the MP said that girls in North India are confined to their homes, limited to cooking and bearing children, while in Tamil Nadu, girls are encouraged to study and progress.” ‘Women’s dignity insulted’: The complaint also alleges that such statements have harmed the social image of women from North India and insulted their dignity. Advocate Sudhir Ojha says that the MP’s remarks not only insult women but also appear to be made with the intention of spreading regional animosity.

‘Attempt to gain political advantage in elections’: The complaint also mentions that DMK leaders have previously made controversial statements regarding Sanatan Dharma. It is alleged that such statements are being made deliberately keeping the upcoming assembly elections in mind, in order to gain political advantage. Under which sections was the complaint filed?: In this case, legal action has been sought against Dayanidhi Maran under Sections 74, 75, 79, 192, 298, 352, and 251(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The court accepted the complaint and scheduled the hearing for January 22nd.
