Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Jaunsar-Bawar Folk Cultural Festival and Sports Event-2026’ at Nagthat, Dehradun. During the event, he paid tribute to the late freedom fighter Kedar Singh and made several significant announcements regarding the region’s development.
The Chief Minister announced major projects such as the widening of the Samarjens motor road, upgrading the Nagthat Primary School to a ‘Model School,’ constructing a 60-meter span bridge over the Yamuna River, and building various connecting roads. He stated that the state government is committed to the holistic development of the Chakrata region; ongoing initiatives include road projects worth over โน1,300 crore and a drinking water scheme costing โน229 crore for the New Chakrata Township. A master plan worth โน120 crore for the development of the Mahasu Devta Temple complex is also underway.
Praising the rich culture and traditions of Jaunsar, the Chief Minister affirmed the state government’s dedication to the upliftment of the tribal community. He highlighted schemes such as the transformation of 128 villages in the state under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan,’ the expansion of Eklavya Residential Schools, and scholarship programs for tribal students. He noted that the combined efforts of the central and state governments have brought about positive changes in the education, dignity, and access to basic amenities for the tribal community.
