On Monday also, a house was damaged due to landslide in the slum of Barah Kainchi in Mussoorie. After this incident, the people of the area are very scared. The matter of relief is that there has been no loss of life in this incident.

People are scared due to debris on the roads, fallen trees and landslides at many places. The most dangerous situation is being seen in the slum located on Barah Kainchi Marg. Some houses in this colony have come under threat due to landslide.
According to the information, the wall of a house has completely collapsed, due to which its structure has become unsafe. Apart from this, serious cracks have also appeared in two other houses, due to which a major accident can happen anytime. On receiving the information of the accident on Monday, a team of Nagar Palika Parishad and local administration reached the spot under the leadership of Executive Officer Tanveer Marwah amid heavy rain.
After assessing the situation, the affected houses were immediately evacuated and the poor and needy families living there were shifted to safer places. Executive Officer Tanveer Marwah said that due to continuous rain, a house in the slum of Barah Kainchi has been completely damaged, while cracks have been found in other houses as well. The situation is very sensitive. The affected families have been shifted to safer places and they will be provided all possible help by the administration.
He said that relief amount and other necessary facilities will be provided to the affected under the disaster management rules. Local resident Devki Devi said that it rains every year, but this time the situation is out of control. I am unable to sleep the whole night, I am afraid that the house might collapse.
The weather department has warned of heavy rains for the next 48 hours. The administration has issued an alert in landslide prone areas and surveillance has been increased in sensitive areas.
