Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has directed to send a team of geologists to Pauri and Dharali. Which will study the causes of these disasters. This team will submit the report in a week. Apart from this, IG SDRF Arun Mohan Joshi has been instructed to be made the nodal officer of search and rescue operation.
IG Arun Mohan Joshi will complete the rescue operation as soon as possible by establishing coordination with the Army, ITBP, NDRF, Air Service as well as other departments and agencies working at ground zero. CS directed to divide these places into sectors to conduct relief and rescue operations being done at various places in Harshil Valley.
He said that all sector in-charges should complete their respective responsibilities in a timely manner. The Chief Secretary directed to construct the Bailey Bridge as soon as possible so that connectivity by road can also be restored soon. PWD Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that the work of construction of Bailey Bridge is going on at a fast pace. All kinds of support is being provided to BRO through the state government agencies. He said that soon a Bailey bridge will be built and opened for traffic.
Focus on restoring infrastructure facilities in the affected areas
The Chief Secretary said that the rescue operation through air service has been completed to a large extent. Now the entire focus is on restoring infrastructure facilities in the affected areas. UCADA’s helicopter has done commendable work and rescued a large number of people. Along with this, Chinook and MI 17 helicopters of Indian service are also playing a very important role in delivering human resources and equipment to the affected areas.
Letter sent to the Mining Department
Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman said that a letter has been sent to the Director of Geology and Mining Department to send three-member teams to study the causes of the disaster at both the places. This team will submit its report to the government in a week.
