Lucknow: A stampede broke out at the Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand on Sunday morning after rumors of electric shock. So far 6 people have died in this incident, while 35 people are said to be injured. 4 people from UP are also among the dead. CM Yogi has expressed grief over the accident and announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
Apart from those who lost their lives in the stampede in the temple, about 12 people from UP have also been injured. Those who died include devotees from Bareilly, Rampur, Barabanki and Badaun.
These people from UP died in the stampede
1. Aarush son Pankaj alias Pravesh, age 12 years, resident- Sauda Bareilly Uttar Pradesh.
2. Vicky son of Rikka Ram Saini, age 18 years, village Vilaspur, police station-Vilaspur Camry Road, Nagliya Kala Mazra Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
3. Vakil son of Bharat Singh, resident of Mihatalvad, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh.
4. Shanti wife of Rambharose, Badaun, Uttar Pradesh.
These are the injured
Sheetal son, age-17 years, Tejpal resident of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
Bhupendra son of Munna Lal, age 16 years, Badaun.
Arjun son of Suraj, age 25 years, resident of Civil Lines Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Rohit Sharma son of Kamlesh Sharma, age 21 years, resident of Mainpuri.
Vikas son of Prempal, age 22 years, resident of Bareilly Cantt, Uttar Pradesh.
Kajal daughter of Arjun, age 24 years, resident of Civil Lines, Moradabad.
Nirmala wife of Pankaj Kumar, age 30 years, Sheeshgarh, Bareilly.
Vishal son Chheda Lal age 21 years Rampur.
Anuj son Arjun, age 20 years, resident of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Ekankshi daughter Sanjeev Kumar, age-4 years, Dhampur, Uttar Pradesh.
Sandeep son Ramesh Kumar, age-25. Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Manoj Sana son Bhuria, age-30 years, District, Bareilly Uttar Pradesh.
Let us tell you that 13 injured have been sent to AIIMS Hospital Rishikesh. The rest of the injured are being treated at the District Hospital Haridwar. District Magistrate Haridwar, Deputy District Magistrate, Tehsildar, SDRF, NDRF, Fire, Health Department teams are engaged in rescue work at the site of the incident. PM Modi, CM Dhami have expressed grief over the incident.
At the same time, CM Yogi has also expressed deep grief over this accident. Posting on Instagram, he said, ‘The news of the death of devotees in an unfortunate accident on the Sri Mansa Devi Temple Road in Haridwar is extremely painful and disturbing. My condolences are with the bereaved families. The officials have been instructed to coordinate with the Uttarakhand government and hand over the bodies of the citizens of UP who died in the accident to their home districts. Financial assistance of ₹ 2-2 lakh will be provided by @UPGovt to the family of each deceased from Uttar Pradesh in this accident.’
17 devotees had gone from Barabanki: 17 devotees from Maulabad village of Baddupur police station area of Barabanki had gone to Haridwar to visit Maa Mansa Devi. Village head Maulabad Hariom Paswan said that there were 10 men, while 07 were women. All these people left by train on 25 July. Village head Hariom told that today i.e. on Sunday, Kanhaiya and Becha Lal told on phone from Haridwar that these people were going to the temple after bathing and climbing the stairs when there was a stampede due to the rumour of electric current. Bharat Singh, son of the village lawyer, died after being crushed. Apart from him, three women of the village, Radhika wife of Kanhaiya, Durgavati wife of Ram Ashish and Phoolmati were badly injured. They have been admitted to the hospital. The lawyer’s wife Urmila was also with him, but she is fine. The incident has brought mourning in the lawyer’s house. The lawyer has a daughter and three sons. These people are in shock due to the death of their father. Village head Hariom told that they have talked on phone. Those who had gone with the lawyer are bringing the body from Haridwar.
