A meeting of the Board of Directors of Uttarakhand Ropeway Development Limited was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, during which several proposals were approved.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of the Kedarnath ropeway project and issued directives to accelerate the work. He instructed that proposals for forest clearances related to the project be uploaded to the portal promptly and that the land designated for compensatory afforestation (CA) undergo re-verification. Additionally, he directed that a detailed PERT chart (action plan) and a timeline calendar for tower construction be prepared in accordance with the finalized alignment. He clearly stated that work on tower foundations on non-forest (revenue) land and utility shifting should commence immediately.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the need to formulate an action plan for parking, accommodation, and public amenities near Sonprayag and Gaurikund. Instructions were issued to ensure that alternative routes are arranged well in advance so that construction activities do not cause inconvenience to pilgrims during the pilgrimage season
