Haridwar: The world famous Chandi Devi temple of Dharamnagari Haridwar will now be operated by BKTC. Today BKTC has taken charge of the management of Chandi Devi temple. BKTC CEO Vijay Thapliyal reached Chandi Devi temple with his team. Where he first visited Chandi Devi temple. After this he took charge of Chandi Devi temple.
During this, BKTC CEO Vijay Thapliyal said that following the order of the High Court, the BKTC team has taken the responsibility of operating Chandi Devi. They have also placed their staff there. This team will give weekly report to the High Court. At present, they have placed a team of four staff in Chandi Devi temple. This team will prepare a report every day.
In this case, the trustee of the temple said that we have got BKCT from the High Court as a custodian. After this, the devotees will get facilities in the temple. This will run the temple in a better way. Along with this, new arrangements will also be started.
Let us tell you that the then Mahant Rohit Giri of Haridwar Chandi Devi temple was accused of second marriage without divorce. Along with this, Mahant had accused his first wife of stealing in the temple. A case was also registered for which. After hearing the case, a single bench of Justice Rakesh Thapliyal granted anticipatory bail to Mahant’s first wife. Also, the date of 13 August has been fixed for the next hearing of this case.
According to the case, Mahant’s first wife had filed a petition in the High Court for anticipatory bail. In which it was said that she was married to Mahant in the temple. After that Mahant got married for the second time without informing her. After that currently they are living in live-in. When he got it investigated, it all turned out to be true. On which an FIR was filed by him. After this, Mahant got a case of temple theft registered against him. Taking this as a basis, he had submitted an application for anticipatory bail in the High Court. Hearing on which the court gave him relief. The court said that till further orders, the temple will be managed by the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC).
