Rudraprayag :-In Uttarakhand, the effect of monsoon has started to deepen on the Chardham Yatra. Due to continuous heavy rains in Kedarnath, pilgrims have been stopped in Sonprayag today as a precautionary measure. District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar informed that instructions have been given to exercise vigilance at all stations of Kedarnath footpath so that a quick response can be given in case of any disaster.
On the other hand, the highway has been blocked due to the falling of the boulder from the rock in Pinula near Govindghat on the Badrinath National Highway. Due to this, devotees going on pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib have been stopped on the way.
Due to overnight rain, stones fell from rocks in the Jyotirmath area and fell on the highway, causing long queues of pilgrims’ vehicles on both sides of the highway. Police and BRO teams have reached the spot and debris removal work is underway.
Police officials said that the pilgrims will be sent to the destination as soon as the road is opened. The administration is appealing to the pilgrims to be patient and follow the safety instructions in view of the weather.
