Nanital:-The State Election Commission will take a decision on the notification that came into force two days before the three-tier panchayat elections in the state on Tuesday. After the adjournment order of the High Court on Monday, the notification may also be postponed in its context. On Saturday, the commission had issued a notification for the election in the state.
The nomination process was scheduled to begin on June 25. Along with this, the model code of conduct was implemented in the state. But on Monday, the High Court ordered the postponement of the notification on the reservation issue. Till late evening on Monday, the commission officials were waiting for the order of the high court.
After receiving the copy of the order on Tuesday, the Election Commission will also take its decision. In compliance with the High Court’s order, the Commission will postpone the notification, which may also postpone the code of conduct until further orders. State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar said that they are in touch with the advocates and the copy of the High Court order has not been received yet. A decision will be taken as per the order.
