Nainital:-The estimated budget for the year 2025-2026 was passed at Rs 41,39,92,849,00 in the board meeting held mainly for finance on behalf of the Nainital Municipal Council on Tuesday. Various issues were also discussed. In the auditorium of the municipality, the balance of Rs 6.63 crore, including the previous budget of Rs 41.39 crore, the budget of Rs 48.39 crore was placed before the board. Out of this, after spending Rs 33.22 crore, Rs 14.80 crore remained.
He gave information about the money and expenditure received from various schemes including building tax, cleaning, rent, contracts. EO Rohitash Sharma assured to bring funds from the government in relation to garbage vehicles, garbage cans and other proposals and informed that it would reach Rs 60 crore after the increase in the estimated budget of the financial year, on which the councilors patted the table and greeted.
In the meeting, President Dr. Saraswati Khetwal, Assemblyman Mukesh Joshi, Manoj Jagati, Jitendra Pandey, Bhagwat Rawat, Puran Singh Bisht, Rakesh Pawar, Ankit Chandra, Surendra Kumar, Geeta Upreti, Kojal Arya, Sapna Bisht, Sheetal Katiyar, Gajala Kamal, Lalita Dafoti, EO II Vinod Jeena etc. were present.

Information on the development fee received so far from the establishment of DDA and the amount given to the municipality as well as correspondence for the residual payment.
– To make a proposal on behalf of the municipality in the installation item.
– To correspond for the progress of the work in the money given to the Jal Institute on behalf of the municipality for the conservation of Dhare Naule.
– To investigate the disappearance of the TV given to the municipality school.
– Paying salary to the work of the environment friend working in the nursery school after the recommendation of the principal.
– On behalf of the store keeper, give information to the councilors about the goods present in the store.
– To take the initiative for lights on the electricity poles installed in the east.
– To constitute a committee to examine the work of the institution authorized for door-to-door cleaning.
– To appoint one cleaning sergeant each in all 15 wards, and to decide the responsibility of the remaining ten.
Municipal Council will go to High Court for Mallital Sports Ground In the board meeting of the Municipal Council, it was decided to go to the High Court regarding the sports ground of Mallital. In the meeting held on Tuesday, Assemblyman Manoj Sah Jagati read out the legal opinion of the lawyer. He said that under the government order, the playground was transferred to the municipality in 1939. In this, the flats committee was given the responsibility of conducting sports activities.
He told that after the end of the tenure of the previous board, the administrator took over here on November 4, 2023. After the municipal elections on 19 December 2024, the new board was elected on 25 January 2025 and was sworn in on 7 February 2025. On January 15, 2025, in the presence of Director, Additional Secretary, Assistant Director of Urban Development Department, the sports ground was sealed to be given to the District Sports Department. While in the midst of elections and oaths, the sports ground was given to the district sports department under an unregistered agreement on February 1, 2025. The rent has not been fixed. It was decided to spend 50 percent of the money received by the municipality from parking on the maintenance of the ground, while 50 percent of the money from the games was also spent on sports upgradation.
