Chamoli: Gas-Laden Truck Overturns on Badrinath Highway

Chamoli:- A major accident occurred on the Badrinath National Highway on Tuesday when a truck full of gas overturned out of control near Pakhi. The truck was coming towards Jyotirmath and suddenly lost balance and overturned on the highway, injuring the truck driver. On receiving the information about the accident, Jyotirmath police immediately reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. Police, with the help of locals, pulled the injured driver out of the truck and immediately rushed him to Peepalkoti Health Centre, where he was given first aid. Fortunately, the gas filled in the truck did not leak, otherwise the accident could have taken a bigger turn. The police took the help of JCB to remove the truck and traffic was quickly normalised. Due to this accident, traffic on Badrinath Highway was affected for some time. The matter is being investigated and efforts are being made to find out what was the real cause of the truck’s overturning—brake failure is also suspected.
