During a departmental review meeting, Uttarakhand’s Minister for Cooperation, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, issued directives to organize large-scale ‘farmer credit fairs’ (Kisan Rin Melas) across all 95 development blocks of the state in the month of November. The objective is to economically empower farmers by connecting them with cooperative credit facilities.
The meeting included a review of the progress regarding the ‘Kisan Samriddhi Card’, IFFCO-Tokio insurance schemes, and the central government’s ‘Dharti Mata’ (Soil Health/Testing) scheme. The Minister instructed officials to complete a comprehensive review of the preparations for these credit fairs and various departmental schemes by October 22.
Furthermore, directives were issued to ensure the timely preparation of departmental proposals and updated progress reports for a meeting of the Union Ministry of Cooperation—slated for November—so that the state’s achievements can be presented effectively. Several senior officials, including Secretary (Cooperation) Dr. Iqbal Ahmed and Registrar Dr. Meharban Singh Bisht, were present at the meeting
