A meeting was held at the Secretariat, chaired by Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan, with representatives from the Skill Development Department, industries, and private training institutions to discuss the formulation of the state’s ‘State Skill Development Plan.’
The Chief Secretary issued the following directives:
• Demand-driven training: Develop employment-oriented curricula that bridge the gap between the actual requirements of industries and existing training programs.
• District-level planning: Prepare ‘District Skill Development Plans’ for all districts, upload them to the designated portal, and ensure that programs are aligned with local employment opportunities.
• Quality and audits: Establish defined standards for training programs and conduct third-party audits to ensure quality.
• Industry coordination: Collaborate with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and reputed engineering colleges to equip the youth with the necessary skills.
He emphasized that the primary objective of these initiatives is not merely to provide training, but to ensure that the youth become employable in accordance with the demands of the industry
