On Monday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected a bridge and tunnel route in Rudraprayag, constructed at a cost of ₹156 crore under the Char Dham Road Project. This 1.18-kilometer-long stretch—comprising a 200-meter-long bridge over the Alaknanda River and a 900.30-meter-long tunnel—has now been opened for traffic on a trial basis. The Chief Minister stated that a formal inauguration will take place soon.
This project will directly connect the Kedarnath Highway (NH-107) to the Badrinath Highway (NH-07). It will spare Char Dham pilgrims from the traffic congestion in the main market of Rudraprayag, making the journey smoother and safer. Additionally, the Chief Minister reviewed the landslide mitigation and protection works.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the ‘Sangam Library’—established under the district administration’s initiative, “Donate a Book, Plant a Tree of Knowledge”—and contributed 150 books to the collection.
