Several key decisions were taken during a review meeting held in Dehradun under the chairmanship of Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. To mark the beginning of the new academic session, ‘Praveshotsav’ (welcome ceremonies) will be organized in all government colleges to welcome newly admitted students.
The key highlights are as follows:
• NCC-NSS: Units for NCC, NSS, or Rover-Rangers will be established in colleges upon meeting the requisite standards, with mandatory student participation ensured.
• Anti-Drug Campaign: Workshops and seminars based on the ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’ theme will be organized to keep the youth away from substance abuse.
• Infrastructure Review: Directives have been issued to ensure the timely completion of construction projects in colleges within the Srinagar assembly constituency and to arrange student accommodation in new hostels starting this very session. Orders have also been issued for the installation of rooftop solar panels and ‘Shaurya Diwar’ (Walls of Valor).
