In accordance with the directives of the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Nainital, a National Lok Adalat will be organized in Dehradun district on September 12, 2026 (Saturday). Smt. Seema Dungrakoti, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Dehradun, has appealed to all citizens and litigants to take full advantage of this opportunity by resolving their pending cases amicably and expeditiously.
Types of cases to be resolved:
• Compoundable criminal cases
• Cases under Section 138 of the N.I. Act (cheque bounce)
• Motor accident compensation claims and bank loan-related matters
• Matrimonial disputes, labor disputes, and civil suits
• Other compoundable cases related to electricity and water
Benefits of Lok Adalat:
Cases are resolved through this medium in a swift and simple environment, saving both time and money, while also offering the benefit of a refund of court fees. The decision of the Lok Adalat is final and binding on both parties.
Parties wishing to resolve their cases may submit an application to the concerned court—either personally or through their counsel—by September 11, 2026. The Authority has urged everyone to avail themselves of this initiative.
