A review meeting regarding the Special Intensive Revision Campaign was held at the Dehradun Collectorate auditorium, presided over by Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande and District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan.
Key highlights of the meeting:
• Special Focus: Instructions were issued to pay special attention to the Sahaspur, Doiwala, Vikasnagar, and Mussoorie assembly constituencies.
• Mapping and Verification: Directives were given to ensure the timely completion of mapping for remaining voters and to conduct verification based on the 11 valid documents recognized by the Election Commission of India, the 2003 SIR copy, and the family register. Officials were asked to coordinate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and conduct field visits to resolve issues.
• Meeting with Political Parties: During a meeting with representatives of recognized political parties, it was stated that the revision process is underway for the district’s 10 assembly seats. Notices are to be issued to a total of 547,942 voters; of these, 391,810 notices have already been distributed.
• Hearings and Documents: Hearings at polling stations commenced on August 3. Voters may submit other valid documents for the resolution of their claims and objections.
The District Magistrate instructed officials to complete tasks in accordance with the micro-level plan and ensure that the verification of any eligible voter is not left pending.
