The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority’s (MDDA) public hearing campaign regarding the ‘Master Plan-2041’—currently being drafted for the planned development of Dehradun—continued for the second day. At a camp held on Tuesday at the Graphic Era University campus, local residents and landowners from Sector-02 offered valuable suggestions and registered objections concerning various provisions of the Master Plan.
Key highlights of the campaign:
• Direct Dialogue: The MDDA aims to align the Master Plan with the city’s actual needs rather than treating it merely as a paper document. To this end, camps are being organized across 12 sectors from July 6 to July 21.
• Next Hearing: As part of the campaign, a public hearing for residents of Sector-03 will be held on Wednesday at the Doon University campus.
• Process: The Authority will conduct a technical and legal review of all received suggestions to ensure a better balance between development, the environment, and civic amenities.
MDDA Vice-Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari and Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia stated that this Master Plan would serve as the foundation for the city’s future. They appealed to citizens to participate in large numbers. The Authority firmly believes that suggestions from the local level will play a decisive role in making the Master Plan more practical and effective.
