Kargil Vijay Diwas will be celebrated with great grandeur as ‘Shaurya Diwas’ in Dehradun on July 26. The main event will take place at the historic Gandhi Park, where Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will specially honor the families of martyrs, *Veeranganas* (widows of martyrs), and mothers of the fallen soldiers.
Key highlights of the event:
• Cultural Programs: Patriotic songs will be played at major city intersections starting from the eve of the event (July 25). The main ceremony will feature performances based on local folk culture and patriotism.
• Competitions: Painting and essay-writing competitions will be organized for school children, and the winners will be awarded during the event.
• Departmental Preparations: The Additional District Magistrate has issued strict instructions to officials. The Department of Sainik Welfare has been tasked with arranging transportation to ensure the dignified commute of *Veeranganas* and ex-servicemen, while the Municipal Corporation has been directed to conduct a special cleanliness drive at Gandhi Park and the surrounding areas. Responsibilities regarding security, traffic management, refreshments, and the setup of a grand stage have also been assigned to the respective departments.
Members of Parliament, MLAs, the Mayor, and other public representatives will also attend this prestigious event. The district administration has instructed all departments to work in coordination to ensure the event is organized impeccably in honor of the martyrs.
