A meeting held at the Secretariat, chaired by Mr. Shatrughna Singh, CEO of the Setu Commission, featured significant discussions on the state’s long-term economic development and employment generation. The primary focus was the expansion of ‘Integrated Smart Village Centers’ at the grassroots level, aimed at fostering growth in tourism, agriculture, horticulture, healthcare, and technology.
Emphasizing a departmental convergence model, CEO Mr. Shatrughna Singh stated that, given the state’s geographical challenges, departments must coordinate effectively to ensure inclusive development. He noted that the active participation of local communities, public representatives, and institutions is essential for rural upliftment. Accordingly, representatives of the selected centers at the panchayat level have been instructed to engage with local residents and formulate a detailed one-year action plan; this plan is to be submitted by the last week of June.
During the meeting, a consensus was reached on several proposals to enhance the effectiveness of these centers, including the establishment of smart centers and help desks, the training of local residents, and the creation of a business model SOP to ensure the seamless delivery of benefits from various government schemes to eligible individuals. Senior officials from various departments, along with Setu Commission Advisor Dr. Bhavana Shinde, were present at the meeting
